Lockheed Martin is set to deliver its advanced TPY-4 radar to the U.S. Air Force for evaluation, following successful internal testing and adjustments. The TPY-4, a software-defined radar capable of detecting a range of targets, including small drones, jets, and ballistic missiles, is intended to replace the aging TPS-75 radar as part of the Three-Dimensional Expeditionary Long Range Radar effort. Testing is scheduled to begin at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida in the summer, with international interest in the TPY-4 already evident, including a contract with the Norwegian military.
