Lockheed Martin and Sikorsky have demonstrated their unmanned capabilities in a fire-suppression and search-and-rescue (SAR) mission, reports Flight International.
The Nov. 8 exercise at Griffiss International Airport in Rome, N.Y., involved an unmanned Kaman K-Max helicopter, the Sikorsky Autonomy Research Aircraft (SARA), Lockheed's Indago quadrotor and the Desert Hawk 3.1 unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV).
Lockheed acquired Sikorsky in 2015.
