Lockheed Wins Contract For F-35 Avionics Upgrade

The U.S. Naval Air Systems Command has awarded Lockheed Martin a contract for hardware upgrades in support of low-rate initial production Lot 15 F-35 Lightning II jets, reports the Dept. of Defense.
The $712 million deal covers the development of the Technology Refresh 3 (TR3) system through full flightworthy certification, production readiness review and fleet release, said a Pentagon release on Thursday.
