Lockheed Wins Award To Develop Variant Of Rocket System

The Pentagon has awarded Lockheed Martin a $79 million contract to develop a new variant of the Guided Multiple Launch Rocket System (GMLRS), reports the defense firm.
Under the terms of the deal, the 36-month program will incorporate a new warhead with the weapon and focus on system performance, warhead qualification and manufacturability.
The new unitary warhead is expected to serve as a drop-in replacement for the Dual-Purpose Improved Conventional Munition (DPICM)...
