Lockheed Wins $3.5 Billion Contract For 31 F-35s

The Dept. of Defense has awarded Lockheed Martin a contract to build additional F-35 Lightning II fighters, reports the defense firm.
The $3.5 billion contract to Lockheed Martin Aerionautics, Fort Worth, Texas, covers 31 aircraft as part of the fourth lot of low-rate initial production (LRIP), as well as manufacturing support equipment, flight test instrumentation and ancillary mission equipment.
