Lockheed Wins $2 Billion THAAD Interceptor Deal

The Missile Defense Agency has awarded a contract to Lockheed Martin Space Systems, Sunnyvale, Calif., for Terminal High-Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) missiles, reports the Dept. of Defense.
The $2 billion contract covers a minimum of 42 THAAD interceptors for the U.S. under Lots 3 and 4.
The procurement will be combined with an order for 96 interceptors from the United Arab Emirates under the Foreign Military Sales program, according to a Pentagon release.
