Lockheed Delivers Laser Weapon System To Navy

Lockheed Martin has handed over a new laser system to the Navy for testing and integration on a destroyer, reports the defense firm.

The High-Energy Laser with Integrated Optical-Dazzler and Surveillance (HELOIS) has been delivered and is being prepared for ship testing and integration, Lockheed said in a Monday release.

The weapon will be integrated with an Arleigh Burke-class Flight IIA destroyer.
