Yemeni troops, backed by the United Arab Emirates and the United States, have raided Al-Qaida hideouts in Shabwa province, reports Emirati state news agency WAM.
On Thursday, Yemeni troops and elite forces from Hadramout province targeted elements of Al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP) in Yemen's southern Shabwa province, according to the report.
The U.A.E. and the U.S. are providing unspecified support, said Yousef al Otaiba, the U.A.E. ambassador to the U.S.
