Light Combat Aircraft To Use Foreign Engine, Say Sources

The Indian government has decided not to build its own engine for the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Mark-2, reports Defense News.
The Kaveri engine program, launched two decades ago, still does not meet air force requirements, said Defense Ministry sources.
The LCA Mark-2 will be powered by U.S. company General Electric's GE-414 engine, which has been short-listed over Germany's Eurojet, said the sources.
