Lewis B. Puller Afloat Forward Staging Base Joins Fleet

The U.S. Navy has accepted delivery of its first afloat forward staging base (AFSB), a variant of the mobile landing platform (MLP), reports the Navy NewsStand.

The Lewis B. Puller was handed over to the service in San Diego on June 12. The AFSB is named after one of the most decorated Marines in the Corps, Lt. Gen. Lewis "Chesty" Puller.
