Leonardo To Oversee New Maritime Patrol Aircraft Program

Pakistan has signed a pair of contracts for the conversion of Embraer Lineage 1000 commercial jets into maritime patrol aircraft (MPA), reports Defense News.

In October 2020, Pakistan announced plans to acquire a fleet of 10 Lineage 1000 aircraft that would be converted to the MPA role for the navy. The jets will be known as the Sea Sultan in Pakistani service.
