Legislators Hope To Increase Number Of Junior Officers By Changing Law

Lawmakers from the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) in Taiwan have proposed amendments to the Act of Military Service for Officers and Noncommissioned Officers of the Armed Forces in an effort to improve benefits for junior officers, reports the Taipei Times.

The DPP is the current ruling party.

The Taiwanese military is facing a shortage of junior officers in all three services, reducing its effectiveness, officials said.
