At least 30 Turkmen soldiers have been killed in a traffic accident, reports Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty.
On Wednesday, sources close to the Turkmen Defense Ministry told the news service that the accident happened on July 18 near Ashgabat, the capital, when a military convoy transporting troops was involved in a collision with a truck and another vehicle.
A witness described the accident scene as “horrible,” with bodies and truck parts strewn everywhere.
