A Shi'ite militant bastion in northern Yemen was hit by a car bomb on Wednesday, killing at least 17 people and wounding 15 others, Agence France-Presse reports.
The blast targeted a Shi'ite procession in Al-Jawf province, a militant spokesman said.
The suicide bomber drove his four-wheel vehicle alongside the procession and blew himself up, said a tribal chief.
The death toll is expected to rise as high as 30, said an unnamed source.
