Leaked Documents Reveal Presence Of U.S. Recon Planes

According to a leaked diplomatic cable, Algeria has permitted the U.S. to fly surveillance aircraft over its territory since January, Agence France-Presse reports.
The French daily Le Monde published the memo from U.S. State Dept. cables released by WikiLeaks.
U.S. Navy EP-3 aircraft have been used to hunt for bases used by Al-Qaida in the Islamic Maghreb, according to the cable. The planes were said to be based at the U.S. naval airbase in Rota, Spain.
