An oil firm has filed a lawsuit against Nigeria's navy for what it terms the illegal detention of the crew of one of its vessels, reports the Daily Independent (Lagos).
Mercury Oil Co. and four crewmembers on Tuesday filed a US$1 million claim against the navy and associated personnel for violating their rights.
In February 2014, the vessel and its crew was seized along Brass Rivers in Bayelsa state for alleged illegal activities, according to the complainants.
