The Russian State Duma has ratified an alliance treaty with the republic of Abkhazia, which has broken away from Georgia, reports Civil Georgia.
The notification by the lower house took place on Friday, noted Russia's RT.
The alliance and strategic partnership treaty was signed in November by President Vladimir Putin and Abkhaz leader Raul Khajimba.
