Swedish defense officials say the military needs a significant budget increase in order to meet the basic requirements set by lawmakers, reports Radio Sweden.
The officials said an annual boost of US$368 million is needed, according to Swedish Television News (SVT).
As it stands, the military cannot meet the requirements set by a cross-party committee, where lawmakers seek consensus on security issues, said SVT.
