The Australian Parliament is considering legislation that would establish a new military court, reports the Australian Dept. of Defense.
The bill introduced Thursday would create the Military Court of Australia to provide a permanent system of military justice.
The court would try serious offenses by military personnel and provide independent and transparent justice, according to a department release.
