The Burmese Parliament has approved a proposal to establish a committee to consider amending the constitution, reports the Myanmar Times.
The proposal was submitted by the ruling National League for Democracy (NLD) party on Tuesday. A total of 397 lawmakers voted for the measure, 17 voted against and three abstained; 187 refused to vote, including all of the military representatives, reported Radio Free Asia.
