The Navy will name its 10th San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock for Rep. John Murtha (D.-Pa.), a retired Marine who chaired the House appropriations defense subcommittee before he died in February, the Marine Corps Times reports.
Navy Secretary Ray Mabus selected the name "John P. Murtha" for LPD-26, according to an official memo. All previous ships in the San Antonio class have been named after American cities.
