The last contingent of German conscripts has been drafted and started to report for duty, Agence France-Presse reports.
About 12,150 young Germans in the last group began their service on Monday, said officials. Their terms will last six months, down from 18 months previously.
The government decided last year to suspend the draft, effective July 1. Beginning in March, only volunteers will be accepted for military service.
Officials expect about 15,000 military volunteers...
