Kurdish forces have retaken the northern Syrian town of Ras Al Ain from Turkish troops and their Syrian rebel allies, reports Agence France-Presse.
The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) launched a counterattack to retake the town overnight, the U.K.-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said on Tuesday.
An SDF media office said that it had repelled attacks on Ras Al Ain by four Turkish-backed groups.
Clashes had moved farther south, outside the town of Tal Tamer, it said.
