Kurdish Militants Released From Prison

The Supreme Court of Appeals in Turkey has released 23 suspected militants from prison, the New York Times reports.

Eighteen members of Turkish Hezbollah (also known as Kurdish Hezbollah and unrelated to the Shi'ite Hezbollah group in Lebanon) and five members of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), were released Tuesday after more than 10 years in jail.

Under a new ruling, suspects can no longer be held for more than 10 years.
