Kiska Ammo Ship Set For Deactivation

After more than 38 years of service, the ammunition ship USNS Kiska (TAE-35) is sailing for Pearl Harbor in preparation for deactivation, reports the U.S. Military Sealift Command.

The Kilauea-class ship spent the last 10 years as the 7th Fleet's principal vessel for moving ordnance around the Pacific and Indian oceans.

The Kiska also provided underway replenishment of all types of ammunition for Navy ships.
