Kim Named Army Chief

Defense Minister Kim Kwan-jin has nominated Gen. Kim Sang-ki to serve as the next South Korean army chief, reports the Yonhap News Agency.
Kim will replace Gen. Hwang Eui-don who resigned on Tuesday in the midst of reports concerning his controversial property investment.
The Cabinet is expected to review the nomination on Thursday.
Kim is a defense policy specialist with significant experience in army operations, said a ministry spokesman.
