A Burmese rebel group says it has shot down a military helicopter in the northern Kachin state, reports the Irrawaddy (Burma).
On Monday, the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) shot down a military helicopter conducting airstrikes in Momauk, said a KIA spokesman.
A witness said that the aircraft was brought down after being hit in the tail rotor.
Clashes between the KIA and Burmese troops in Momauk have been increasing since April 11.
