KC-46A Pegasus Gets Nod For Refueling Duties

The Japanese Defense Ministry has chosen the Boeing KC-46A Pegasus as its next aerial refueling aircraft, reports the Asahi Shimbun.
The Pegasus was selected in part because it could also wind up refueling U.S. aircraft heading to combat zones as part of joint operations with Japan, said officials.
Boeing was the only bidder for the project.
The ministry will next begin price negotiations with Boeing and determine the number of aircraft to be procured.
