The Chilean air force's modernization efforts are beginning to bear fruit, with the first new aircraft slated to arrive next month, reports MercoPress (Uruguay).
The upgrading has included the purchase of 18 F-16s from the Netherlands, 12 Super Tucano trainers from Brazil, three KC-135 tankers and 12 Bell 412 helicopters, officials said.
The first aircraft to be delivered to Chile will be a KC-135 in mid-February, followed by the Super Tucanos and the final six helicopters...
