Kashmir Protests Turn Violent, Deadly

At least two protesters and an Indian police officer were killed Monday in the latest round of violence in Indian-administered Kashmir, the BBC reports.

Police shot at the protesters in Bandipora district, officials said. The officer was said to be run over by a truck.

An indefinite curfew was placed on the capital of Srinagar and other major cities after anti-American demonstrations turned violent on Saturday.
