The Afghan government has fired the governor of the southern Kandahar province, reports the Canadian Press.
The ousted provincial governor, Rahmatullah Raufi, a former army general, replaced Asadullah Khalid just three months ago.
In an interview with a wire service, Raufi said that powerful people in his region had been sabotaging his work.
No replacement was immediately named.
