The Afghan government says it is investigating reports that Taliban leader Mullah Omar has died, reported NBC News.
Unnamed sources in the Afghan administration and intelligence agency say he had died two to three years ago.
Omar has not been seen in public since shortly after the U.S.-led invasion in 2001. The U.S. State Dept. has a US$10 million bounty for information leading to his capture.
Rumors of Omar's death regularly surface and are denied by Taliban officials. ...
