A judge has acquitted a pair of soldiers accused of murdering a member of the Official Irish Republican Army in Northern Ireland in 1972, reports the Guardian (U.K.).
The case against the two unnamed soldiers collapsed after the public prosecution service decided not to appeal the judge’s decision to declare some evidence as inadmissible.
The prosecution's case relied on testimony given by the accused to the Royal Military Police in 1972 and then to Northern Ireland police in 2010....
