Joint Patrols With U.S. In S. China Sea Pushed During Talks In D.C.

The Philippines wants to conduct joint naval patrols with the United States in the disputed waters of the South China Sea, reports GMA News (Philippines).

"We are suggesting that we also patrol the area together," said a Defense Ministry spokesman on Thursday, as cited by Reuters.

The respective foreign and defense ministers met this week in Washington, D.C., to discuss trade and security, mostly in the South China Sea.
