NATO and Afghan troops said they killed 32 Taliban in a joint operation in Helmand province on Wednesday, Agence France-Presse reports.
Three soldiers were also killed in the operation, which took place in Nad Ali district, said a provincial government spokesman.
Thousands of U.S. Marines, alongside Afghan and other NATO troops, are preparing for a major offensive against the Taliban stronghold in the Marjah area, south of Nad Ali, according to the Afghan Defense Ministry.
