Joint Exercise With U.S. Set For S. China Sea

The Philippines and the United States will take part in naval war games starting next week in the South China Sea, reports Asia Times.

The joint military maneuvers, scheduled from June 28 to July 8, will occur off the coast of Palawan province, near the contested Spratly islands, military officials said.

The Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training (CARAT) exercise has been scheduled for the same time.
