India—JeM Blamed For Daylight Shooting In S. Kashmir

Militants have killed a former Indian special police officer trainee in Indian-administered Kashmir, reports the Press Trust of India.  On Wednesday, three gunmen opened fire on Ashiq Ahmed Nayek as he was walking in a village in the Pulwama district of South Kashmir, said police.  Nayek, 25, was transported to a hospital and pronounced dead on arrival.  He had joined the Indian army's Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry in 2018, but quit after he could not cope with the training,...
