Seven Japanese lawmakers are scheduled to visit Taiwan later this month in apparent show of support for the island, reports the South China Morning Post (Hong Kong).
On Tuesday, Frank Hsieh, the de facto Taiwanese ambassador to Japan, said in a social media post that the legislators were from a cross-party Parliament group focused on security affairs and indicated ongoing Diet support for Taiwan despite the assassination of former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe last week.
