Japan and the United States issued travel alerts for Europe after Britain raised its threat level for travel to Germany and France, the Guardian (U.K.) reports.
The alerts followed news last week that Al-Qaida may be planning a commando-style raid, similar to the November 2008 attacks in Mumbai (Bombay), India.
U.S. troops based in Germany were given a curfew Friday night and ordered not to wear their uniforms off base, CNN reported.
