Izmir Expected To House NATO Land Command, Says Minister

Defense Minister Vecdi Gonul says that the western Turkish city of Izmir will become the new home for NATO's land force command, reports the Hurriyet Daily News.
Izmir currently hosts a NATO air command and was, along with a headquarters in Larissa, Greece, under consideration for closure as part of efforts to tighten the alliance's command structure.
