Italian Doctors, Staff To Man Misrata Hospital, Guard It With Troops

The Italian government has announced the deployment of scores of military personnel and a hospital to Misrata on the Libyan coast, reports the Libya Herald.

Rome will send 200 soldiers and a military hospital with about 100 personnel, said a government source cited by Reuters.

The fully equipped field hospital is being sent at the request of the U.N.-backed government in Libya, Italian Foreign Minister Paolo Gentiloni said on Tuesday.
