The Israeli government is trying to stop the potential sale of Russian land-based anti-ship cruise missiles to Syria, Ha'aretz (Israel) reports.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has asked Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin to stop the deal, arguing that Syria has previously transferred arms to Hezbollah, according to an unnamed Israeli official.
