The Indian air force has received the first of three airborne warning and control system (AWACS) aircraft from Israel ahead of schedule, reports Defense News.
The first of the aircraft, a Russian Il-76 transport aircraft equipped with an Israeli Phalcon radar, was not expected until March, said an Indian air force spokesman.
The aircraft is currently based at Agra air force base, he said, not far from New Delhi.
The AWACS aircraft were purchased in a $1.1 billion contract...
