Armed men have attacked a jail in the southern Philippines, leading to a mass escape, reports the Philippine Star.
At least 158 prisoners fled the prison early Wednesday, reported CNN.
More than 100 men attacked the jail in Kidapawan City in North Cotabato province in a pre-dawn raid, prompting a two-hour shootout, reported AFP.
One guard was killed and at least 158 prisoners escaped, said a jail warden. The attack may have been intended to free Islamist rebels, he said....
