ISIS Said To Control Parts Of Strategic Town In Homs Province

Islamic State (ISIS) fighters have launched attacks on Syrian government positions in Homs province, reports Agence France-Presse.

ISIS began an offensive Tuesday night in and around the town of al-Sukhna, about 220 km (140 mi) east of Homs city, said the U.K.-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

Government forces repelled the attacks in some areas, but fighting was still ongoing in other places, said a military source.
