Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi has announced a three-month emergency state after twin church bombings in Palm Sunday, reports Agence France-Presse.
The Islamic State claimed responsibility for the deadly bombings against Coptic Christians, reported CNN.
One blast hit a church in the northern Egyptian Nile city of Tanta, killing 27 people and injuring 78, according to local officials.
