The leader of the U.S. efforts against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria is stepping down, say officials cited by Bloomberg View.
Retired Marine Gen. John Allen is leaving due to personal reasons, said U.S. officials on Tuesday.
Sources cited by Fox News said Allen has been frustrated with U.S. policy for eight months.
The U.S. State Dept. is not ready to announce Allen's departure, which is likely to take place in early November.
