Islamic State militants have a key town in central Syria from pro-government forces and abducted more than 200 residents, says a monitoring group cited by the International Business Times.
ISIS gained control of the town of al-Qaryatain in Homs district overnight Thursday after attacking government checkpoints with suicide bombers on Wednesday morning, said the U.K.-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
A total of 37 pro-regime fighters and 23 ISIS militants were killed...
