A series of car bombings have hit checkpoints on the western edge of Samarra in central Iraq, reports Reuters.
Three bombs detonated at the checkpoints before sunrise on Thursday, killing a civilian and two policemen. At least 41 were injured in the blasts, according to local officials.
Other reports indicated that 15 people were killed in those attacks and another south of the capital.
ISIS militants were involved in the attacks, noted the BBC.
