Local officials say Iraqi security forces and Sunni tribal fighters have fought off an Islamic State attack on the town of al-Baghdadi in the western Anbar province, reports Xinhua, China's state news agency.
Early on Wednesday, dozens of ISIS militants, including a number of suicide bombers, attacked the town, according to an unnamed provincial security source.
At least 13 ISIS militants, including three suicide attackers, were reportedly killed in the fighting.
